More about Katerina & Olympia Fields

Born and raised in Sydney into a hard working, loving, loud, proud, joyful and effervescent Greek family, Katerina Tsompanis is a multidisciplinary designer and artist who’s career as a creative director & designer spans over 14 years.

Katerina started her career in the creative & fashion world running the online store (and sometimes photographing & sketching that iconic sailor logo!) for cult label Wheels & Dollbaby, interned with pop artist Ben Frost (Moschino), art consulted at Tim Olsen Gallery for Australia's most celebrated artist John Olsen, art directed and designed for prestige fashion and lifestyle brands Vogue & GQ (Condé Nast), David Jones, Delicious & International Traveller and let's not forget the time she won Triple J Unearthed on a whim with her punk/rock band Emergency! Emergency! and toured the country for sometimes only 10 bucks show!

Her first fashion brand debut was in 2013 when she launched her eponymous sleepwear and lingerie brand Katerina Nis. This delicious brand was adored by stylists and photographers internationally and quickly became the go-to for anything frou-frou!

In 2019, after an incredible trip to Tokyo, it was time for a new direction.
Katerina's mission has always been to bring joy into daily life but there was now an added layer of not wanting to take things so seriously. And there was born, Olympia Fields - a totally made up name which you can read more about a little further down.

In 2020 during what was a strange & unprecedented time in the world, Katerina decided to start pushing more vintage clothing. Turns out, this is one of the more fun and fulfilling things she's done to date!

As a fashion designer and art director Katerina has been featured in Vogue, GQ, Vice, Purple, Who, Shop til you drop, Brace, The Daily Knicker and her work has been seen on Katy Perry, Caroline O'Connor, Jack Colwell and every single happy client she's made from all around the world.

Intrinsically fashion, style, music and nostalgia are at the heart of everything that the Olympia Fields world creates and curates and Katerina’s mission is to create happiness and joy in those around her through the medium of design and fashion.

What is behind the name Olympia Fields?
Olympia Fields started out as a reminder not to take things so seriously (hence the made up name!) ‘Olympia’ is a name I’ve always loved - it also has ties to my Greek heritage, which is so important to me. And Fields... well I love the idea of having an arcadia you can escape to, so Fields just felt “right” and I went with it!
